Supply interruption
A split-system controller can appear dead when an isolator, supply circuit or internal protective component is at fault. A quick restart after a power interruption can also trigger a programmed delay.
We establish the sequence of events first. If protection operates again, repeated resets should stop and the electrical cause must be identified by a qualified person.
